View from the Room - Cathedral 64 in Cardiff
If (when) I decide to stop running around and stay in and run my own hotel, this is what it may be like. From the discrete location - there is no sign on the door of this residential street, despite it being surrounded by hotels - to the luxury of the finishing touches.
The attention to detail extended to every part of the room, from the radio being on when we arrived to the blinds on the window closing upwards, to keep the light coming in at the top of the room. As far as the five-star service is concerned, when a night cap arrived it arrived with a little bowl of chocolates. When breakfast was served on my birthday, it came with a side helping of a hand-written card.
Perfectly located on a main residential street, Cathedral 64 is just a 10-minute walk around from the city centre, through a beautiful park if you decide to come that way. Our beautiful room is on the first floor, looking out to the street:

This is a decent size with a large shower square head. No shower door as double length so you step deep inside.

There are wide stairs up to the room with a welcoming lit-up bookshelf on the landing. There is a lounge on the ground floor in which I spotted a roaring, welcoming fire but our room was so lovely that we never needed to spread out!
Service was excellent throughout with a turn-down service if you are out at that point. They even wrote out a birthday card for me. We were greeted by the owner and offered complimentary drinks and Welsh cakes. In fact, we are offered a drink every time we bump into the owners!
This is one I want to return to, there can’t be better than this in Cardiff.
