****

This Novotel is centrally located around the corner from the train station and the commercial sector, although quietly tucked away in a business park.

For sure we heard noisy - boisterous even - customers in the bar and restaurant each time we ventured in and out, but my birthday did fall on a Friday this year. Thankfully, our room was pretty quiet and well equipped.

Bathroom

It’s always good to actually be able to access bath towels while saturated in the bath and to that end, the Novotel have a towel rail and a robe hook. The sink is ample with storage all around and underneath although - a small think - a little hard to rinse out. Tricky when rinsing out my lovely birthday present, a fabulous French press.

There’s an overhead shower over the rub and I always love a double loo roll holder. The toilet is separate which has it’s pros and cons. Pro being that it’s still available if someone is using the bathroom, the con is getting into the habit of going next door to wash hands.

  • 2 actual glass glasses

  • bar of soap

  • small tube of shower gel

  • small tube of shampoo

  • box of tissues

  • 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and a bath mat

Comfort

With a feature wall that’s becoming as common in hotels as the tiny reading lights I’m obsessed with, the room has a sofa plus desk and chair along with little bedside shelves. Those little lights are often the first thing I check when I enter a room nowadays.

Refreshments

Kettle with a socket just behind alongside 2 mugs and spoons with an assortment of instant teas and coffees and a couple of biscuits. The milk pots were to be found in the fridge which was great as so many hotels don’t seem to be only suppling milk on request at the moment.
