View from the Room: Hamburg Crown Plaza

I am so pleased with the location of the Hamburg Crown Plaza.  It’s an old school built-for-purpose building situated towards the end of a quiet residential street in Hohenfelde and yet close to transport links.

The service is delightful throughout from advising of us the face masks needed in preparation for the next day’s law change to quickly changing our room when they realised they’d not given us one with the requested bath tub. It’s tiresome to go up and down lifts after a journey and such a common error in hotels.

Staff, helpfully gave out masks for our first day as we’d planned to buy some next day. Turns out you can just buy them in one pharmaceutical shop. Given they were essential to go indoors anywhere, I’m surprised they weren’t sold on counters of many shops.

Similar to the last German hotel in Berlin, this one has an open lobby area and curiously and delightfully,  you can look down on some sheep as you pear over the open balcony along the corridors (see photo)

The room had one huge bed although with that classic European thing of two duvets and reading lights of the kind I nearly had at home. There’s a desk and chair too so a smaller bed or moving it to a different wall would have worked.
