It was ‘pass-out-hot’ when we arrived so fully functioning air con in this Ibis Styles was all I craved. We even had to stop during the short walk from the station to sit and have a freezing-cold drink. Adequate air con was a struggle in the next two hotels and generally in recent years. I wonder if the air con in hotels is just not equipped for what climate change has caused in the last decade. Previously I’ve only used it sparingly as needed and now it’s an essential - all in the space of ten years.

At this little Ibis Styles tucked away on a quiet street, we had a warm welcome, considering there is a hallway with a table rather than an actual reception and a cool room to stay in for our one night in Paris, on route to Strasbourg.

The hotel is modern, had a decent breakfast and is wonderfully convenient for transport. Unusually, the hotel has rooms on the ground floor and that’s where we stayed. Easy in and easy out - great for one night.

That is all I recall from my heat hangover, other than I know I’ll happily stay here again.
